August Newsletter
I don't want to sound too excited here but it's August! Those of you in the know will know that means Féile Na Gréine is just three weeks away. The happiest, busiest, most dancy weekend of the year for us every year. We'll be hosting a Saturday afternoon gig as usual on August 24th and the whole city will be bouncing for the weekend so enjoy yourselves and remember to drink some water (more a reminder for myself than you).
Cheers all and I'll see you on Thomas St soon,
Jono
Beer of the Month
We say
Curtis: “Light and bright Belgian farmhouse ale with strong notes of banana, lemon and lime up front evened out by a snap of white pepper at the end. Perfect for long summer evenings sitting outside on Thomas Street"
Eloise: “The Grisette is one of my favourite beer styles. As a lover of Saison, it’s the little ABV cousin. As Saisons were given to agricultural workers at the end of their day, Grisette was given to Miners as they surfaced at the end of their days. Grisette means “Little Grey One” as it was served by women from the local factories and pubs that would wear grey uniforms. I always think grisette is the wine of the beer world. Super dry and refreshing, with a light tartness perfect for a summer’s day. Our Grisette has banana aroma, but flavours of lemon and elderflower. Enjoy in all shapes from a shot to a pint!”
They say
Molly: “I like it. It’s light and fruity and that’s fucking it, it’s good.”
Gill: “It’s deliciously refreshing” Is that it? “Yes, and keep that in”
Nell: “I like it a lot. It kind of reminds me of a cider, so if you like cider you’ll probably like this beer”
Jake: “I think it tastes like smoked pancetta”

Stay hydrated this summer folks. This handy water dispenser is now situated on the bar. Sure it cost a fortune and not all the screws fit, but it's been an invaluable addition to the team. Water dispenser, we salute you.
